Course content:
These courses is for people who want to learn more about choosing and preparing flowers for use in displays, table arrangements, bouquets, posies and wreaths for special events. Festive Flowers · focus on table arrangements and displays for special vents, places of worship and parties. Hand-tied Designs will focus on loose bouquets. Posy Pad will focus on using sponge bases. April and May courses will focus on using summer flowers and/or on designs for weddings including some more advanced wire designs.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
1. choose fresh flowers and mix them effectively in a bouquet, display or arrangement [see course title].
2. use basic equipment correctly.
3. Use equipment safely and understand health and safety requirements.
4. arrange a display for a special occasion
5. use wiring techniques, hand-tying methods, wreath, table arrangements and basic shapes (depending on which course you enrol for see titles] .
Course Structure:
Practical courses involving demonstrations and practical work. Some mini-presentations by the tutor with note-taking or handouts.
Course resources:
Basic equipment and some materials will be provided. Please bring a pen, notebook and file. All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.
Assessment:
Teacher feedback. Individual Student progress Records. Student and peer self-assessment

Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
