Course content:
Learn to speak holiday Hindi for India and basic, commonly-used Hindi phrases and expressions on this lively course for near beginners. Ideal if you are thinking of travelling to India. Taught bilingually (English & Hindi) with emphasis on developing your listening and speaking skills; based on tutor's material.
By the end of the course student will be able to:
- basic skills of introducing yourself and your family in Hindi
- give and ask basic information about yourself and others
- enquire about postal services in post office
- give and ask basic information about transaction in a bank
- order goods in a shop
- learn Hindi alphabet- writing and sounds thereof.
- learn the use of â€-Matras'-â€" the building blocks of writing in Hindi
- learn basic rules of Hindi grammar
- learn correct format of writing Hindi sentences (different from English)
Course Structure:
Classes typically have 10-15 students. You may work in groups, in pairs or individually and need to complete homework outside the class. There is emphasis on student participation in activities. Communicative, functional approach with emphasis on speaking, listening and comprehension with role play method.
Course resources:
You will have access to the Learning Centre in Wandsworth and Tooting. This includes the use of computers, audio-visual equipment and at Wandsworth, our language laboratory

Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
