      Course Content:
      A choice of Social Science subjects selected from: Psychology Politics
      Economics
      Philosophy
      Sociology
      History
      Geography
      Criminology

      All students study Research Methods, Psychology, Sociology and Personal Development Planning

      Assessment:
      Continuous, exam and essay based
      Final graded examination

      Possible Progression Routes:
      Employment in a variety of positions in related areas
      HND in Social Sciences
      Degree courses in Arts/Social Sciences including possible progression to 2nd year at Glasgow Caledonian University, University of the West of Scotland and some other universities. Langside College enjoys a special arrangement with the University of Glasgow and Strathclyde University under a Supported Selection Procedure which can lead to the waiving of some entrance requirements to Year 1 of Social Science Degree courses
