What will I be learning?

The course covers use of BS 7671 and the IEE On-Site Guide in a practical way, to find information and use tables to solve realistic problems. It is run over 10 weeks, with the exam on week 11.

This will include basic cable sizing, conduit and trunking sizing and sizing of bonding and earthing conductors. It also explains the relationship between the Wiring Regulations and the Electricity at Work Regulations.

How will I learn?

You will learn by guided learning within dedicated electrical classrooms and you will need to complete City & Guilds On-Line Multi-Choice exam.

What else might I want to know?

This course will also help other professional tradespersons that are aiming to become registered for Part P of the Building Regulations.

You will need a copy of BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations 17th Edition and the IEE On-Site Guide as these books are allowed to be used in an open book 2 hour multi-choice examination, also simple scientific calculator, pen, paper and perhaps yellow highlighter.

What can I do afterwards?

The course is a good basis to build on with any further electrical courses, especially the City and Guilds 2392 Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification course, the 2391 Inspection, Testing and Certification course and the NICEIC Domestic Installer Scheme Qualification.
