Course Description
The course is intended to foster knowledge of, and an interest in, the history of the art of the 20th. Century with regard to the major artists, their works and the important art movements of the period.
Course Content
The course will consist of a series of weekly lectures covering the major artists, art movements and their chronology during this specified period set against the social, political and technological background of the times.
The lectures will be mainly delivered by Power Point presentation and followed by tutor-led group discussions on the lecture content and related topics.
Method of Assessment
There is no exam, but verbal and written feedback (as appropriate) will be provided. Group discussion is also very much encouraged.
Equipment and Additional Costs
Students to provide note-books for their own use in taking lecture and post-lecture discussion notes.
