Attending college and having a work-placement with a local employer will help you to gain valuable work experience and skills.
What will I learn?
Whilst in college you will gain the knowledge and understanding which will help you to achieve a Technical Certificate in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. You will gain practical experience during your time in college which you can then transfer into workplace during your workplacement. As the course progresses you will be working with an employer for two, three or four days per week. This will give you the opportunity to show the employer your willingness to learn and your employability skills. Developing your interpersonal skills will form part of the course this will help you to develop and improve both your verbal and written communication skills. You will also be able to take part in team building exercises through taking part in the enrichment activities which are run in college.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through observations where applicable, sit online examinations and build a portfolio of evidence collected from both college and the workplace. If you require additional support there are a number of ways we can help you to achieve your goals.
What can I do after the course?
Once you have completed the Programme Led Apprenticeship there is the opportuntiy for you to progress onto a full apprenticeship programme.
