Course Description
This course will provide the skills and knowledge required to work effectively as a Resort Representative. Confidence will be gained in dealing with people and solving common customer complaints. All students are guaranteed an interview with Thomas Cook on successful completion and satisfaction of employment requirements.
Course Structure
The course is run for 2 hours per week for 30 weeks, and is a mixture of theory relating to customer care, health and safety, legislation, practical simulation exercises and evidence gathering.
The course is assessed by the completion of a portfolio. All students will study the following 4 units:
- Investigate employment opportunities
- Undertake resort preseason preparation
- Manage airport and transfer duties
- Undertake in resort duties
And one of the following:
- Investigate resort administration
- Investigate the role of the children†s rep
The course is assessed through the development of a portfolio of evidence. Some assessments will use role play or other practical activities where applicable.
Course Entry Requirements
All learners will need to complete an application and interview prior to enrolling.
To enter the course you will need to have good literacy skills (At least level 1), and a desire to work within the travel industry. To succeed on the course you need to possess good organisational skills and be able to pay attention to detail. You should be familiar with finding information using computer applications. Interviews will take place throughout the summer.
Course Progression
You may progress to full time courses or higher level qualifications (dependent upon meeting other entry requirements) including travel and tourism courses and aviation courses.
Course Career Prospects
- You may be able to apply for entry level positions within the industry and are guaranteed an interview with Thomas Cook providing all entry requirements are fulfilled.
