The NOCN Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design(Ceramics) is a practical course. Course Details
The NOCN Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design(Ceramics) is a practical course. In order to successfully achieve the qualification in ceramics, students must complete a total of two mandatory units, five optional units and five ceramics units. The course involves development of practical ceramics skills including glazing, firing and building techniques. The course will also incude a mixed media element which may involve glass, metals and found objects. Students will be required to document their development though ongoing sketchbook and course work including evidence of written analysis, evaluation and technical notes. Enrolment will be subject to specialised area Tutor consultation.

Completion of on-line applications are not necessary. Due to the nature of the activity, informal one to one guidance is preferred to ensure correct entry onto courses. Therefore please contact the Art and Design Office directly. Advice on material costs will be provided at enrolment.
Progression:
On successful completion of ther NOCN Diploma in Art and Design (Ceramics) students can progress to AS/A2 Levels 3D (Ceramics) or may consider progression to the OCN Access (Diploma (Art and Design).
