Course aims:
This qualification is designed to meet the needs of people already in the industry wishing to a gain qualification at NVQ3 on day release from work.

You will be encouraged to share recipes with colleagues and our very experienced tutor Richard Hook.
Course content:
On this course you will learn about:
- Food storage safety
- Prepare and cook
- Dough products
- Hot and cold desserts
- Sugar craft
- Chocolate work
- Cake decorating
- International pastries
Facilities for students:
Working in the training pastry kitchen.
Assessment: Observations of practical work. Multiple choice and written questions,
Produce picture evidence for portfolio.

Any Level 1 qualification or equivalent.

No work experience included but you may wish to attend master classes, visits and trips, enter competitions.
You can also work in the College's training facility, The Gallery.
Qualification in Context and Future Opportunities: You can progress onto a Level 4 qualification or move into Higher Education.

International tuition fees (per year) : 5,148
If you are under 19 on 31st August 2009 you do not have to pay Tuition Fees, the College Registration, Awarding Body Registration or Exam/Assessment Fees. However, you will have to pay any Resource Fees. Under 19s entering Higher Education will have to pay full costs.
