Is it right for me?
The 3 day training course will bring those with some experience in spraying up to the standard required to take the National Proficiency Test Council Foundation module (PA1) and Hand Held Applicator module (PA6A).

Please note: The assessment takes place on a separate day by arrangement between the candidate and the external NPTC appointed assessor.

What qualifications will I need?
Minimum age 16 years. Tetanus protection is recommended. Candidates should be literate and numerate.

What will I be learning about?
Day 1 ' Legislation, LERAP, codes of practice, label interpretation, assessing hazards and risks, sprayer safety, personal protective equipment.
Day 2 ' Pesticide storage and transportation, record keeping, disposal of pesticides and their containers, environmental protection.
Day 3 ' Planning and preparation, alternative methods of control, types of sprayer, nozzle selection, pre'spraying procedure, sprayer maintenance, calibration, handling and mixing, decontamination.

What materials are required?
Notebook, pen and calculator. Wellingtons.
PLEASE NOTE: All students must bring 2 passport size photographs on the first day of their course.

What is next?
Further NPTC tests

How will I be assessed?
By external National Proficiency Test Council at a later date arranged by student and assessor.
