Introduction
This course is for Beginners and Improvers. It aims to introduce Beginners to the basic principles of using clay to make artifacts and broadens the Improvers ceramic skills whilst encouraging the development of design processes.
Description
The course teaches the student to use and explore a variety of making techniques to produce ceramic forms. Students will use a variety of surface decoration techniques and produce finished items.
Duration
This is a termly course but students are advised to enrol over the entire academic year (30 weeks) if possible so as to reap the course's full benefit.
Method of Study
Students work as individuals within a structured class/tutor led environment. You are advised to wear old, washable clothes and bring an apron and hand cream to all classes.
Progression
Enrolling on the following year's courses and building a portfolio of work. More advanced students may wish to explore the possibilities of an accredited course.
