Is this course for you
This course is designed for workers in the caring profession who already work alongside children and adolescents and or have some previous counselling skills training. It is appropriate for those people wanting a sound grounding to the principles in counselling young people. The certificate, awarded upon satisfactory completion of the course is accredited by Play Therapy UK. The course will equip participants to progress to further in-depth diplomas in counselling or specialist Play Therapy courses.

What will you study
* To enhance the ability to work with children and adolescents (5-17 Yrs). * To relate the use of counselling skills to workplace and agency settings. * To raise awareness of the legal and ethical issues involved when working with children and adolescents, particularly Child Protection code of ethics. * To enhance participants professional and personal development. * To acquire creative skills when using play/arts therapy with children and adolescents.

Additional information
Induction will be held on 15 September 1600 -1800. What do you need to bring? * An A4 ring binder * A folder, portfolio or A3 plastic wallet * A willingness to be involved in individual and group play and art activities * A commitment to attend 100% of the course but in extenuating circumstances 85% will be allowed by Play Therapy UK.
