Course Overview
For a Part Time Foundation Degree you do not need to apply through UCAS.
This Foundation Degree course in Social Care (Social Work Studies) will concentrate on the vocational aspects of Social Care. This course will provide students with an opportunity to develop Social Care, higher education skills and focus upon the study of theoretical and contemporary issues faced by organisations on a regional, national and international level. This course will prepare you for the challenges of entering the world of social care.

Qualifications Gained
If you successfully complete the course, you will gain a Foundation Degree in Social Care. (Validated by Leeds Metropolitan University)(Subject to Approval).
Progression Opportunities
If you complete the Foundation Degree to an appropriate standard and would like to continue with your studies, you will be offered the opportunity to complete your education to BSc (Hons) level at Newcastle College or alternatively at another institution.
Career Opportunities
Students from this course may wish to progress in to careers in the field of Social Care. Some of the roles you may wish to move into include youth offending teams, educational welfare officers, drug and alchol abuse and opportunities in social services.
