Is this course right for me?

Designed for people working in a Youth Work setting and whose work is closely supervised. Alternatively, you may have an interest in pursuing a career in this field; and the Certificate will start you on the first steps of this.

What will I be learning?

The Certificate course covers 6 units, these are:

Engaging young people in relationships and conversations
Promoting a safe environment in youth work
Equality, Diversity and Participation
Encouraging young people to develop awareness and understanding of themselves
Understanding and reflecting on practice and learning
Young people as active citizens

How will I learn?

For this course you will be required to attend an evening workshop for each unit and produce a written/evidence based piece of work for your portfolio. In addition you will need to undertake a placement in a relevant area of practice where your vocational competence will be assessed.
