Course Description:

This course is designed for those wishing to improve their knowledge and understanding of manual and computerised payroll systems, with an introduction to Sage payroll software

Contents

A basic introduction to Payroll which covers:

  • Gross Pay
  • Pensions
  • P11s, Tax, NI and Payslips
  • 'K' Codes, Students
  • Joiners and Leavers
  • Charges & Deductions

The course content will be 50% manual payroll followed by 50% computerised

Level: Level 2 Course Type: Part Time Entry RequirementsEntry Requirements:

There are no specific academic requirements for entry on to the Payroll course, but students will need to possess basic computer skills.

Progression & AssessmentAssessment and Progression:

This course is assessed at the College via a series of workshop activities, and leads to the award of a College Certificate in Payroll.

Duration & LocationDuration:

This is a 10 week course, starting 10 February 2011 on Thursdays 9.00am - 12 Noon.

Due to the short duration of this course, there is a requirement for 100% attendance. The course is internally assessed, with the main assessed activity taking place towards the end of the course.
