Course Description:
This course aims to give students the confidence to open up a computer and add or replace parts; to troubleshoot basic problems and to install and configure an operating system.

Description Breakdown:
Recognition of the various parts of a computer, Sorting out the different cables and the correct way to connect them, Inserting more memory, Replacing the CPU, Installing Windows 2000, Installing Windows XP, Installing motherboard drivers, Adding another hard drive (IDE), Adding a SCSI device
Adding Sound cards, Adding a modem, Setting up users, Customising screen displays, Setting up a printer, Customising the keyboard and mouse, Changing the boot order, Enabling/disabling settings, Sharing Files, IP Addresses, Partitioning and Formatting a hard drive
