WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
This course is designed to enable you to build computers. It is suitable for people who use computers but would like to have a better understanding of how computers work. This is a practical course which will also provide you with a good knowledge of computer hardware.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Health & Safety with PC's
Identify PC components
Dismantle PC's
Reassemble PC's
Loading an Operating System
Boot sequence in BIOS

WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
You will need to attend classes for the duration of the course on Tuesday evenings from 6.00pm - 9.00pm. You will compile a portfolio of evidence demonstrating the skills and abilities you have learnt. In addition you will be required to read up and complete written homework in your own time as most of the class time will be set aside for practical work.

The course will run on the following dates:

22nd September 2009 - 2i910-09 ( 4 Weeks)
12th January 2010 - 2i516-09 ( 4 Weeks)
13th April 2010 - 2i516-09 ( 4 Weeks)

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
On successful completion of the course you will gain an College certificate of attendance.

Course fees are payable on enrolment. Costs shown in brackets are for those on income-based benefits. Refunds are not normally available.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTERWARDS?
You can progress onto our Upgrade your PC course. You will require both Build a PC and Upgrade your PC to progress on to more advanced courses like A+ or PC Support.
