The course is appropriate for those who have an interest in the practical or technical aspects of engineering, and who wish to progress to an apprenticeship and employment in the field of engineering.

Entry to the course will be by interview with the course tutor.
Students need to be enthusiastic, well motivated and have an interest in engineering. A complementary City & Guilds 2800 or BTEC National Certificate course can be added towards an Apprenticeship programme depending upon GCSE grades.

Course Content
Students learn practical skills in a range of engineering disciplines are included in the course from a full range of machine shop skills, sheet metal work, welding, electrical wiring & testing and CAD.

Students will compile a portfolio of evidence by completing a series of practical tasks and underpinning knowledge.
What can I do next?
Successful completion of the course will allow progress to a range of advanced courses and Advanced Apprenticeship opportunities or prospective employment in the engineering industry.
