This four day training course is endorsed by the College of Occupational Therapists and accredited by the Open College Network. It has been designed for staff with responsibility for the health & safety and welfare of carers, with regards to the moving and handling of clients.
It will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to train others in the skills of safer people handling and to conduct manual handling risk assessments.
Course Content Includes:
- current legislation
- spinal function
- biomechanics and efficient body movement
- ergonomics
- manual handling risk assessment
- effective teaching skills
- commonly used 'controversial techniques'
- full range of practical techniques and the use of patient hoists for the safer moving & handling of people.
Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a certificate of achievement which is valid for two years.
