About this course
There are no formal entry requirements but the student should be able to: Communicate ideas by language or sign and work as part of a team. Feel comfortable within a group discussing sex education. Course Overview
This course is for students who are able to demonstrate a level of independent activity, who have some Literacy and Numeracy skills for daily living and an interest to develop independence and confidence in personal relationships, care & safety.
Course Structure
- Travelling safely on buses, trains and taxis.
- Personal safety while using public transport and walking out in the community.
- How to keep safe at home.
- Appropriate use of the phone.
- Personal Hygiene.
- Sexual Health.

Qualification Aims
Upon successful completion of this course students will receive a recognised certificate
Assessments/Examinations
Students will be assessed on their awareness of safety while out in the community and using public transport.
Cost / Equipment
£35.00 Material costs to be paid to the tutor at the start of the course.
All other fees are the responsibility of the applicant including travel money, refreshments, visits etc.

Where 1:1 support is an identified need, a carer from the home may be required. Places are limited to applicants who have not attended College previously or those who have attendee for 2-3 years.
