Module summaries
Postgraduate Instrumental Studies
The module provides individual training at an advanced level in your first study, with a specialist teacher. You will work towards two performances, for which we will ask you to explore a range of complex repertoire, taking into account contemporary styles, and to assimilate and solve interpretative demands with independence and authority. The module covers all aspects of performance preparation and presentation.

Postgraduate Performance Workshop
Based around workshops in which you perform and introduce works for your own instrument or voice, this module gives you experience of solo and group improvisation, and develops advanced listening skills. You will get to perform to a specific brief, develop expertise in communication and presentation, and improve your ability to listen to and critically evaluate your own and others' performances. The module is an opportunity to share ideas and work with other students, and complements the Postgraduate Instrumental Studies and Postgraduate Ensemble Studies modules.

Postgraduate Ensemble Studies
The module's range of ensemble activities supports and complements your first study. You will develop the ability to shape a musical performance and rehearse an ensemble, and develop your analytical skills, communication skills and leadership qualities.
