About this course

Employees should be working in an appropriate play work setting. A letter will be required from the manager confirming their status and role and that they support the employee†s attendance on the course. Candidates will be asked to take a literacy assessment.

About the course : This course is for Supervisory play workers in a variety of play work settings. Participants will further develop workplace skills relating to national occupational standards and their job role. Applicants with substantial voluntary experience will also be considered.

Mandatory Units :
Contribute to an organisational framework that reflects the needs and protects the rights of children and young people.
Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children.
Develop and promote positive relationships.
Plan for and support self-directed play.
Reflect on and develop practice.

Optional Units :
There will be a range of optional units to choose from.

Entry requirements
Cost : This course is offered under the Train to Gain programme and is free to individuals who don't already have a level 2 qualification. Otherwise the cost is £150.

After this course : Employees can develop their roles and responsibilities at work and progress onto a NVQ Level 4 Qualification.
