About this course
You must be aged 19 or over and ideally be working in an After-School Club (employed or voluntary). All students will be interviewed to assess their eligibility for the course.

Introduction:
This is a competence based programme, with assessment taking place in the workplace to National Playwork standards. It is a full Level 2 qualification.

Course Content:
This course consists of six mandatory units and several personal development workshops.
Assessment:
To achieve this NVQ Level 2 course you will need to demonstrate your competence to meet the national occupational standards. Assessments of competence in your workplace will be arranged and are on-going throughout the course. You will also be required to produce a portfolio of evidence detailing knowledge and understanding. You may need to spend up to 2 hours per week of your free time on work for your portfolio.
Careers & Progression Opportunities:
This qualification will help you become competent and confident in your work. Successful completion of this course together with an increase in your duties and responsibilities will allow progression to the NVQ Level 3 in Playwork.
Costs:
This course is subsidised by the Lancashire Education Authority (LEA). Tuition fees will therefore be substantially reduced (to £50) for Lancashire residents/employees.
How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
