Course programme
Why choose this course?
- this course is not therapy, although it has a therapeutic effect, but offers a powerful educational programme
- the tools it teaches are both profound and accessible
- being labelled as ‘disabled’ and treated as negatively different has a strong effect on self image and perception
- poor self esteem is often at the root of self injurious and self neglectful behaviours
- when self esteem is low life is often characterised by fear, not love
- being given a diagnosis of an acquired sensory or physical impairment can couple low self esteem to feelings of despair and hopelessness
- accessing our self esteem enables us to have internal peace and contentment
- this course fits into the recovery model for mental distress
- positive results ~ a sense of hopefulness for the future, a renewal of purpose and a newly discovered love and care for self, not dependent on proving you are ok
Length of course: 12 sessions of 2 - 2½ hours
