About this course

It is recommended that there should be an initial assessment to ascertain the existing level of academic qualifications, current level of literacy/language and literacy and motivation for undertaking the course. A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in the teaching subject is strongly desirable.

Contents
The course is delivered as a short course, over 10 - 12 weeks, dependent upon the number of students. The class is for two and a half hours, weekly and is delivered at the Worsley Centre.

On completion of this unit a learner should:

Understand own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area
Demonstrate session planning skills
Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners
Understand the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping

Fees

The current tuition fees are £85 plus £20 registration with the awarding body.
