Principles of Care A2 - OCNW Level 2

Introduction:
This course provides for learners with an interest in social care and its practice in relation to the needs of diverse social groups.

Study Mode & Location:
This 16 week part time course will last for 3 hours per week. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
The course covers a series of interrelated modules including issues associated with:

  • Care
  • Children and families
  • Young people
  • Physical challenges
  • Learning difficulties
  • Mental health
  • Older people.


Assessment:
Assessment is a 3 step process which includes a short piece of work (500 words), an extended piece (1,200 words) and a portfolio of class notes.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress to other Level 2 courses. You may be able to apply for access courses in nursing, midwifery and health-related courses or social, youth and community work.

This course will also add qualifications to your personal portfolio or curriculum vitae (CV) and may enhance your career prospects.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
