Production manager course

The Production Manager is responsible for the entire production trend of the company and plans, controls and coordinates the production activity of the company to optimize resources and performance. Among his main duties as a production manager are: defines and directs the different phases of company production, in terms of times, methods and resources to be used, plans production planning, based on the availability of resources and contractual commitments hired, coordinates the logistical activities and replenishment of warehouse stocks, requesting the necessary assortment from the Purchasing Manager, updates the production phases, in consideration of each progressive state of advancement and guarantees the quality of the final product and compliance with the required processing procedures, also verifying the correct functioning of machinery and equipment. It also liaises with the managers of management control, on the procedures adopted for production, and with the Quality Controllers, for any technical problems on the functioning of the products. It organizes and divides the work of the resources employed in the production sector and manages the costs of the production area. In the context of personnel management, in the event of conflicts, it dialogues with employee representatives to resolve issues. To assume the role of Production Manager, it is advisable to acquire work experience as a collaborator in the production area (eg. in the individual production departments) or in the Business development and Purchasing sectors of a company, to get to know the product sector of the company and its production needs. It is also advisable to acquire skills regarding the procedures for processing goods and the required quality standards (quality certification standards).
