A comprehensive and practical course leading to a professionally recognised qualification enabling the individual to practice professionally.

Core Skills – Classroom Training

1. Theory of Indian head massage (Outline)

2. Indian Head Massage Choreography and Practice

3. Indian Head Massage Business and Marketing

4. Indian Head Massage Adaptation

5. Professional Protocol Including personal & client management consultation/privacy/professional principles

6. Health & Safety Including Clinic management & hygiene

7. Anatomy, Physiology and Theory Requirements for Home Study

Home Study/Practice

1. Six case studies of a minimum of four treatments

2. Anatomy & physiology - Specification of knowledge required and study areas to be presented during classroom sessions

3. Regular practice (must be confident and effective by assessment – although speed will not be required)

4. Appropriate theory related to professional practice (specification given to students during classroom session)

Assessment

1. Theory Exam - multiple choice, 30 mins.

2. General practice questions – 15 minutes

3. Documentation of case studies handed in for assessment

4. Practical assessment covering core skills (45 mins)

Support

This is a fast track course and a significant element of the theory required will be studied in non-classroom time. Support is available from the course director by phone or by email anytime

Policy if it is found that this course is too intensive for the student

Intensive training is not for everyone. If the course director feels that the student is unlikely to achieve the required standards within the time frame – we reserve the right to invite the student to return for additional training on subsequent courses either free or at a reduced rate at our discretion (depending on reasons why the student is failing). If that were not enough then we would refund the course fee for the days remaining.

11.00-11.30 Question time/revision/coffee

11.30-1.00 Practical (with model)

2.00-3.30 Practical (with model)

3.30-4.00 Question time/revision/coffee

4.00-4.30 Consolidation –review –further practical

4.30 onwards Optional Practice/experts available

Support services until 9pm Mon-Friday and as available Sat & Sun

Exam

Schedule two hours for practical and theory to be booked by the student with the Academy when the student (with guidance from the tutor) feel that they are ready.

Cost: £199 including exam fees, professional registration, 12 months insurance and text books.
