What are the entry requirements?
You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at Interview.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.

- Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 2
You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.
What qualification will I receive?
You will receive a Level 2 Technical Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
Where can it lead?
You can use this qualification to gain employment and then use that work experience to achieve an NVQ2.
What will I study?
You will study practical skills relevant to the workplace. Subjects you will study include: Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical & Electrical Principles, Safe Handling of Refrigerants and Pipe Work & Brazing.
How will I be taught?
If you are not in a position to collect work based evidence you can study the Technical Certificate full time. Those who are employed and need to get the NVQ 2 in addition to this qualification will study one day a week or two evenings a week. You will be taught through classroom study and practical work. This course also makes use of the Virtual Learning Environment where there is Internet access and various IT resources.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through online theory tests and workplace assessment.

You will have access to a personal tutor to help you through the course. The College offers a comprehensive range of student services, including learning support, language support and guidance.
