Safe Control of Operations 1 and 2 - Competent Persons (Team Leaders)

Overview
On completion of the course, participants should be able to:

• State the roles and responsibilities outlined in the procedure with specific emphasis on Competent Persons
• State when the various permitry types are used
• Demonstrate application of Permits to Work and Forms of Authority

Suitable For
Candidates involved in operational and/or minor works on the Gas Networks and certain types of Meter Installations including, but not strictly limited to those who are, or will become named Competent Persons for either Permits to Work, Forms of authority and, where appropriate, Routine Operations

Practical (Demonstrations, Hands On, Assessment of Competence)

Pre Requisites
Nominations from Reviewing Managers for Competent Persons who carry out physical works on gas sites or apparatus. A Competent Person has the ability, appropriate training, knowledge and experience to supervise and/or carry out physical work on site in a safe and proper manner. All candidates must possess the appropriate skills to perform their role; this includes suitable reading and writing abilities.
