2. Course description This flexible course is designed for those who have an interest both in art and in practical skills with the idea of combining the two. You will have the chance to learn how to make armatures and model in either clay or another material of your choice Make a mould and cast from a clay model. Prepare clay sculptures for kiln firing. As well as have the opportunity to carve in wood or stone. The tutor will be on hand to turn your idea, sketch or image into 3D reality and give one to one support as well as group discussion on work achieved The overall aim is to build learners confidence and extend the leaner's perception of 3D and how to make concrete their ideas

3. Entry requirements All abilities The course aims to be both an introduction to sculpture as well as for more experienced learners who will be guided towards their individual goals. A practical mind set and an enthusiasm for creating, experimenting and persevering are useful ingredients for those joining the classWe welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Equipment required Clothes for messy work, examples of previous work and sketch pad & pencil. Some materials provided and directions on where to buy other materials. 5.
