North West College is fully accredited by the School of Information Risk Management (SIRM). We are SIRM's approved Course Provider and Examination Centre for Postgraduate Diploma awards. SIRM has an "Articulation Agreement" and "Partnerships" with UK Universities. SIRM Postgraduate Diplomas are acceptable by the Universities for MSc / MBA (Top Up) programs. SIRM postgraduate holders are eligible to join the Universities to obtain full master degree.

SIRM has an "Articulation Agreement" with UK University that they will consider SIRM students with a good pass in the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Security and Assurance (ISA) with 90 credits for entry onto MSc (Top Up) program. On successful completion of further 2 modules and Dissertation (90 credits), University will award a full MSc degree.

Entry Requirements
English proficiency is essential.
The content of the course are not the exclusive province of any single discipline or any combination of disciplines. Some backgrounds are more suitable for entry to the course than others. Each student will be considered on an individual basis. Candidates may be interviewed at the discretion of the Course Organizers or a delegated representative of the Course Organizers.

Course Structure
The PgD course has a flexible modular structure and consists of 6 core subjects of 15 credits each. A particular emphasis is given in achieving an optimal balance of theory and practice; students will be given exposure to leading-edge software and assurance practices. The course structure is as follows:

Module MSIRM119 - IS Audit Process
Module MSIRM113 - Information System Management
Module MSIRM114 - Infrastructure and Operations of IS
Module MSIRM115 - Security of IS Infrastructure
Module MSIRM110 - Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
Module MSIRM116 - Software Engineering and Security Architecture

After completing above 6 modules, students will be studying 2 modules and dissertation at the university.

Duration:
PgD - Minimum 9 months
MSc - 9 months (Inc 2 modules and Dissertation)

Course Breakdown
PgD (6 modules - 90 credits) will be taught at SIRM Partner College. Successful students will have to successfully complete further 2 modules and dissertation (90 credits) at the University to obtain full MSc degree. Students are required to obtain good marks (minimum 60%) to obtain successful entry onto MSc program at the University and also need to fulfil the university admission criteria.
