This course is ideal for you if you wish to work towards a career in the Sport Industry.
What are the entry requirements?
You should have four GCSEs at grades A to D. If you are a mature applicant without these qualifications or have work experience in the Sport Industry, you will be interviewed to find out if you are suitable candidate. You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills. Induction is taken very seriously at this college. You will follow a five week induction programme where your suitability for the level and type of programme you are hoping to be on will be assessed. Successful completion of the induction period will confirm your place on a course.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.

- Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 2
You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.
What qualification will I receive?
BTEC First Diploma in Sport Level 2.
Where can it lead?
BTEC National Award in Sport, an alternative Level 3 course or employment in the industry.
What will I study?
Subjects you will study include the Sport Industry, Health, Safety, Injury, Preparation for Sport and Sports Leadership Skills. There will also be a practical sports element and you will study key skills including Communications, Numeracy and IT.
How will I be taught?
The course consists of six units. You will develop knowledge, understanding and practical skills in the field of sport.
How will I be assessed?
You are assessed via a portfolio.

You will have access to a tutor to help you throughout the course. The College offers a comprehensive range of student services including learning, language support and guidance.
