"The stage manager is the person in charge of setting up a show and has a thorough knowledge of all the technical roles of the company (lighting, sound, stage, entrance and exit of the actors). The stage manager is trained during the two-year specialist course in Scenography and Spattacolo Technologies of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brescia SantaGiulia and is in charge of the artistic-technical activity that takes place in the theater, of the concert with the direction and musical direction (in the case of opera) and choreography (in the case of ballet). In some cases he also coordinates the activities of the collaborators of the stage, hall and lights. The stage manager is responsible for the regulation of the stage and structure, as well as the contact person for technicians and staff employed in the preparation of a theatrical work. He has a role that allows him, at his own discretion and responsibility, to modify part of the original show as needed, keeping as much as possible the atmosphere desired by the composer. The stage manager is able to master the technological and conceptual tools for the creation of images for the management of the stage space for theater, cinema and television, as well as for the preparation of events and live performances, as well as in management of digital technologies and television and cinema scenography.
