The class focus is on general dance stretches, postures, breathing techniques and relaxations to help improve overall flexibility and movement. The aim is to have a fun yet challenging class, whilst improving your physical wellbeing and helping you feel more confident and positive about yourself. Stretching through dance is known for preventing injuries, improving alignment, relieving tension and of course loosening those tight joints and muscles.

Demonstrate essential stretching technique
Identify improved flexibility, strength and stamina
Perform stretches and stretch combinations with greater confidence.
Please wear clothing that does not restrict your movement and allows you to adapt to changes in your body temperature. Tights, leotard or clothing that does not restrict movement will allow your tutor to see your work more clearly. Jazz shoes or similar, barefoot, no outdoor shoes or trainers please. Jock straps should be worn by men. Students to tie their hair back if it is long for their own safety and comfort. Jewellery should be removed at the start of the class.

Course programme
Each lesson will start with a full body group warm-up, followed by floor exercises. All exercises are taught using structured exercises and combinations. There are also partnered exercise's that will help the stretching and take it up a level, to improve the movement.
The course has a physical approach from beginning to end with structured exercises to improve different stretching qualities. The class is tutor led and you will be taught through demonstration and explanation. We encourage you to stretch in your own time to perfect the work but there is no formal requirement to do so. As part of the course content, your tutor may record your image for initial and ongoing assessment purposes. You are entitled to decline to participate in the recording of your image.Additional information
