In chamber music, musicianship is developed by sustaining an independent line, which interacts with that of other players whilst bringing the music to life. Groups choose their own works, with the guidance of the tutor, from the Classical, Romantic or 20th Century repertoire, and there are opportunities for performance.

Course programme

- Technical elements of ensemble playing
- Musical interpretation and stylistic sensitivity.

Ensembles are formed at the beginning of the course, according to the instruments, interests and abilities of the students enrolled. At least one movement is studied in depth by each group. The tutor visits each group during the session, ensuring that students receive specific advice. It is expected that all students will practise their parts between sessions. You will also benefit from listening to recordings and performances, and studying scores.
