On this course you will learn about film making using super 8 cameras and film. As well as learning about general film making practices you will explore the aesthetics, processes and contemporary and experimental uses of super 8 film making. You will not only learn how to use the cameras and the film stock but will learn cheap, accessible and safe methods of processing the films yourself without using any harmful chemicals. The films will be digitised and edited using Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
This is invaluable for those who want to experiment with and explore film making and for those who wish to enter the world of super 8 with its many prestigious international super 8 film festivals.

- understand how to processing Super 8 film using accessible and safe ingredients
- record sound using a range of recording devices
- understand some methods for digitising material
- use a range of processes to edit digitised footage in Adobe Premiere CC.
Cameras and equipment and software are available for your use throughout the course. It would be useful to bring a memory stick (or portable hard drive – please note PC formatted hard drives can be read by Apple mac computers, but not written to.).
