If you work or wish to work in schools supporting teaching and learning, then this course is for you. It is ideal for teaching assistants working under the direction of the teacher. This course will enable the learner to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in the school environment. It is suitable for both employed and voluntary teaching assistants.

About this course
You could progress on to the a level 3 certificate or diploma in supporting teaching and learning in schools.
Employment opportunities could involve continued work in a school as a teaching assistant. You may wish to look for work as a general classroom assistant or as a support assistant for individuals with specific learning needs.
At least 4 GCSEs at grade D or above (including English and maths)
Be at least 18 years of age.
Must be employed or volunteering as a teaching assistant for at least 6 hours per week

Course programme
You will be assessed via workplace observations and written assignments. You will also be required to reflect on your own practice and submit completed log sheets towards the end of the course.
You need to complete units on:

- Equality, diversity and inclusion.
You will also study units on school as organisations, team practice and support learning activities.
