About the course:
Threading is the art of removing hair from the eyebrows, face, arms and legs by using a cotton thread has been practised in the East for hundreds of years. This qualification provides a standard for this treatment that is insurable. A critical aspect of this qualification is to ensure the health and safety of the client and to understand the contra-indications to treatment.

Threading depilation is preferred by some clients as being 'traditional'. Hygiene and correct client care will be covered. The candidate will know how to prepare for threading, select the correct thread to use and explain the processes to the client. The candidate will know how to consult with the client about the area to be threaded and the results required. The candidate must be able to treat erythema with after-care lotion and soothing substances and also explain home care treatment.

Progression:
Successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Threading will provide opportunities to progress to the Level 2 N/SVQ in Beauty Therapy, VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques and a wide range of other related beauty qualifications or to employment in beauty and hairdressing establishments or for those who wish to acquire the expertise on its own.
