This three-day CPD-accredited course provides a comprehensive overview of tinnitus and hyperacusis and strategies for assessing managing the conditions in adults and children.
The third day has a paediatric focus. You can attend for one, two or three days.
You’ll also have an opportunity to network with a range of professionals from different backgrounds.
The course is run by the UCL Ear Institute.

Course programme

The course starts with a research update on current understanding of the mechanisms of tinnitus and hyperacusis.

You'll also learn about:

  • theories of tinnitus generation and scientific evidence in terms of neurophysiological mechanisms giving rise to tinnitus and hyperacusis
  • different approaches for the assessment and management of symptoms - including counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness meditation and acoustic stimulation strategies - along with evidence on their effectiveness

On the the third day you'll learn how to adapt strategies for managing tinnitus and hyperacusis to the special needs of children.

Teaching and structure

The course is taught over three consecutive days. You can attend for one, two or three days.

Lectures and workshops will be given by experts from the UCL Ear Institute and the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, as well as guest speakers.
