You will need to four GCSEs at grades A-D (including English) or Level 2 qualification (NCFE, OCR, BTEC, City & Guilds at Pass level). Work/life experience of mature students will be taken into consideration. You will need to have good Literacy and numeracy skills.

What will I learn?
This course is suited to those seeking a career either within the travel and tourism industry or with an airport or airline. The tourism industry remains strong and is set to grow further with the forthcoming Olympics; this together with the rapid expansion of the aviation industry in the UK in recent years has led to a rapid growth in employment opportunities at UK airports and with airlines serving this country. A strong interest in travel and the operation of airports is essential an will determine success on the course. Subjects you will study include: Worldwide Destinations, Customer Service, Marketing, Airports, Cruise Industry, and Passenger Service Agents. Visits will take place to various organisations and places relevant to the content of the course and these visits will help to generate evidence for the portfolios. It is a practical, work related course where you will learn by completing research assignments based on realistic workplace situations. You will develop Key Skills in: Communication and IT.
How will I be assessed?
This course consists of a combination of two qualifications: City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced National Diploma in Travel and Tourism and NCFE Level 2 Passenger Service Agent. You will be assessed through a combination of written portfolios and online tests for each unit studied. The assignments require individual and/or small group research and independent portfolio production. The assignments are internally marked and externally moderated by City & Guilds and NCFE.
