Tourism Management

At Bath Spa University, Tourism Management is an exciting vocationally orientated programme in which you will study some of the most challenging issues of today.

You develop a balanced perspective by combining both the business and management aspects of the tourism industry with geographical, social, cultural, political and environmental issues. Topical issues and concerns such as conservation of tourism resources, the social and cultural impacts of tourism and the development of tourism destinations ensure the programme is always relevant and up-to-date.

We are fortunate that the programme is based in Bath – a World Heritage City and regarded by many as one of the finest European cultural cities. You will benefit from our close partnerships with local and regional tourism industries and visitor attractions. Guest speakers, visits and a short placement are all features of the course; you will visit, research and work alongside the many visitor attractions including the Roman Baths, the Royal Crescent and the new Thermae Spa.

You will have the opportunity to study abroad on a residential study visit and spend a semester in a European, American or Japanese university as part of your studies. There is an optional overseas study tour to research the development and impact of tourism in Barcelona.

You can also take part in activities organised by the Tourism Society, the leading professional network for tourism managers.
