Why choose this course?
This course is for you if you enjoy a style of learning that incorporates investigative work into real travel and tourism organisations and practices. The practical emphasis provides you with the skills to produce high quality reports, presentations and demonstrations. There is a large coursework element and you need to become self-motivated, working well individually and with others in team situations on occasion. This course will suit students who enjoy the application of theory to authentic practical situations.
What will I study?
There are core units that all students on the course must study, ensuring that you have a good understanding
of all aspects of travel and tourism including its structure, travel destinations, practices and procedures, international travel, the customer, facility management, current issues in travel and tourism and tourism development.
In addition you may complete your qualification by choosing from a range of optional units that allow for specialisation in one (Single Award) or more particular areas (Double Award) if you wish.
Huish Extra
We are continuing to establish good links with local, national and international facilities; ensuring that students have a rewarding experience both academically and practically. Students have access to appropriate additional qualifications including travel industry awards, First Aid qualifications, Customer Service qualifications and event management projects. Field trips within the UK and abroad are incorporated into the course.
