Course programme
This fibres and fabric course examines the characteristics and qualities of the different fabric colouration processes in relation to quality and cost. It also looks at a wide range of different fabric finishes and how they transform the fabric. The different methods of both dyeing and printing are explained and examined.
You will handle fabric samples and be introduced to the various terms used to demonstrate the wide variety of colouring techniques available. Fabric finishing will also be discussed and various aesthetic, functional and special finishes described and samples shown.
A practical examination of dyed, printed and finished fabrics will also be included.
