2. Course description This course has been designed for students who have an interest in the Hospitality and Catering Industry but are not confident enough to access a Level 1 course from the beginning. During the first 10 weeks of the programme students will develop confidence practical skills and an understanding of the Catering and Hospitality Industry with core units covering - Introduction to the Catering and Hospitality - Communication at Work and Working Relationships -Health Safety and Hygiene The qualification then moves to a NVQ Level 1 in Food Preparation and Cooking which represents the first step towards a professional catering career. You will be able to develop your food preparation and cooking skills as well as build your understanding of working in a hospitality environment.As part of the course all students will work towards achieving a higher level of Maths and English
