Watercolour Painting
Your Course
This is a structured course based on teaching watercolour techniques. The chief aim of the course will be to respond to the needs and interests of individual students as they pursue their own work. However, a general structure to the course will be followed in terms of systematic demonstrations of techniques. The order of presentation of the various elements of the course is likely to change according to the needs and interests of the students.
A detailed course outline will be given to students on beginning the course. Materials are not included in the course fee. Advice on the materials needed will be given in the first session but those who have already begun painting should bring their preferred materials with them. Basic materials needs are two watercolour brushes size 6 + 8, a box of watercolours, watercolour sketch book, water container and drawing equipment.
Learning Outcomes
· Enjoyment of the art of water-colour.
· Confidence to compose and experiment with personal project work.
· Knowledge and understanding of a variety of water-colour styles and techniques.
· A critical and contextual understanding of famous artists who have used water-colour.
Your Tutor
Tom McPherson studied at Chelsea School of Art and Central St. Martin's School of Art in London. He is a practising and exhibiting painter. He also teaches creative workshops for children in Cambridge. His work has been included in many exhibitions including the Royal Festival Hall and Christie's Auctioneers in London and Kettle's Yard in Cambridge.

Tuition fees: £90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.

Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
