About the course:
This is a 15 week course. Depilation is the temporary removal of superfluous hair, which is achieved professionally by the use of different types of wax.

This unit covers the preparation of the area, equipment and client for a wax depilation treatment, complying with legislation relating to health, safety and hygiene. You will be required to wear disposable gloves whilst performing all waxing treatment. During the course you will begin to understand the importance of involving the client in the treatment, explaining the process fully and advising the client on contra-actions (adverse reactions).

Course Content:
Areas covered are: legs, underarms, bikini and face.

Equipment Requirements:
You will be required to wear suitable salon wear, which consists of a Black tunic and trousers, and black salon shoes. Discounted salon clothing is available from us. If you would like a form please ask. Please ensure that you collect the order forms for the above items from the Information & Guidance office, and order before the start of the course.

Additional Information:
Part time for 15 weeks, one evening per week. This is an intensive course, requiring commitment and dedication. Additional units to be covered are: Support health, safety and security in the salon / support employment standards. You will be expected to provide models for your practical assessments and required to complete an externally set end of unit assessment paper. Please note this is not a Government sponsored course. You will, therefore, be required to pay all fees personally.

Enrolment Instructions:
An interview will be required before enrolment onto this course. Late enrolments will not be accepted later than week 3 of the start date.
