The Programme
This construction course provides the practical skills and knowledge required to successfully embark upon a progression route in College or a career in the Construction Industry as a Site Carpenter. The focus is based on the practical skills and underpinning knowledge required in the Construction Industry.
The Programme Content
8 units including Health & Safety, Knowledge of Information Level 2, Building Methods & technology Level 2 plus the main Wood Occupations units, First Fixing, Second Fixing, Structural Carcassing, Work Maintenance & Safe Use of Circular Saw. All units are covered in theory and practical sessions.

Final synoptic practical assignment.
Key-skills in communication and application of numbers at Level 1.
Group Tutorial and individual tutorials.
Progression / Careers
Full completion of the qualification will allow you to progress onto another Construction Course such as NVQ level 2 (must be employed) in Carpentry.
