Description
The NVQ Wood Occupations Level 3 requires you to be employed within the industry undertaking complex Wood Occupations activities and organisational activities. You will need to provide evidence of competence through activities done in the workplace either by witness testimonies or by direct observation. You are also required to demonstrate a level of understanding which is done through day release attendance to college.

What will I study?
NVQ Level 3 Site Carpentry is made up of 4 mandatory core units:
Conform to General workplace Safety
Confirm Work Activities and Resources for the Work
Develop and Maintain Good Working Relationships
Confirm the Occupational method of Work
Plus one of the following optional routes:
Mandatory practical units:
Install First Fixing Components
Install Second Fixing Components
Plus any two units from the following:
Erect Structural Carcassing Components
Erect Complex Structural Carcassing Components
Maintain Non-structural and Structural Components
Set Up and use Fixed or Transportable Machinery
Bench Joinery option:
Mandatory core Units as Site Carpentry
Mandatory practical units:
Produce Setting Out Details for Routine Products
Mark Out from Setting Out Details for Routine Products
Manufacture Routine Products
Manufacture Complex Shaped Products
Plus any one unit from the following:
Set Up and Use Fixed or Transportable Machinery
Produce Complex Shaped Product Detail
Produce CAD Setting Out Details
How will I learn?
Your individual learning plan will help you learn in a way that bests suits your needs. You will agree a work programme with your tutor, which will include the setting of individually assessed tasks.
How will I be assessed?
Progressive assessments of all course elements are carried out on an individual basis on site and in college. Assessment will be carried out by your college assessor or your nominated work based recorder. All assessments contribute towards course units, which will build into certification.
Where could it lead?
The course will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to progress onto HND/HNC in construction subject to interview.
