Introduction:
This Open College of the North West (OCNW) Level 2 course provides an opportunity for those already working, or seeking a voluntary employment opportunity within a health or social care setting, with formalised acknowledgement of their experience.

Study Mode & Location:
This 32 week part-time course will last for 1.5 hours per week (some weeks will be on placement/in a work experience setting). It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
The course provides for learners to self-evaluate and describe their personal and interpersonal skills; their personal development in a work context; and to consider how work organisations operate.

Assessment:
Assessment involves a three step process consisting of a short piece of work (500 words), an extended piece (a 1,200 word evaluative piece) and a portfolio of class notes.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion of this course allows progression to many higher level courses at Preston College. If studied alongside other Level 2 units, this course may help you progress to Access courses in Nursing, Midwifery/Health Related qualifications or Social, Youth & Community Work. The course will also enhance your personal portfolio or CV and may enhance employment prospects.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
